Rumors of Samsung’s game controller surfaced back during the launch of S4. But now, it is official and heading towards stores in the UK within weeks. This is just what the avid android phone gamers wanted this festive season. Android mobile users can take their gaming experience to another level via a new Samsung’s game controller (GamePad). The GamePad syncs with the phone as you work the knobs and controls to play your favorite game titles.

The controller can hold multiple android devices of varied sizes and shapes. It can hold phones of size ranging from 4 inches to 6.3 inches. Though, it is largely meant to support phones, but phablet users can also take advantage of this controller.

The controller does not limit its use only to Samsung devices. It is compatible with any right size device running Android 4.1 of higher. Samsung also mentioned that the device is easily compatible with the Samsung Galaxy series running Android 4.3 or higher. This probably includes devices like Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2 and 3. This clearly indicates that the Galaxy device owners will have an edge over other Android users as they can easily pair the controller via NFC, which will give a quicker access to games through a Play button.

Play button is significant as it launches Samsung’s Mobile Console app. This helps users to browse through the console app store, which has 35 reasonably priced games. Some of the game titles are Asphalt 8 – Airborne, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Prince of Persia – The Shadow and the Flame, Virtua Tennis Challenge, Modern Combat 4 – Zero Hour and few other popular titles. According to Samsung, there are many games aligned for 2014.

As if now, the GamePad will be available in the European countries, but in the coming weeks, it will be launched in other regions. Also, the availability of controller in the US market has not been confirmed. Only time will decide whether the Game Controller will justify the legacy of Samsung, or fail to mark its presence in the market.
